Brighton Area Schools: They Will Destroy A Five Year Old Before Admitting Administrative Malfeasance...
In a world where adults are confused about children's gender and bathroom usage, we have young kindergarten boys (5 years old) being charged with sexual assault for tickling one of their classmates. Harshly punished via segregation, discrimination and with zero due process.
The administration from Brighton Area Schools should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for how poorly they have handled this young boys case in a kindergarten classroom at Hornung Elementary, as well as multiple other horrific saftey issues (KILL LISTS at BHS!!).
If our school board and superintendent were transparent with the community this abusive behavior by the adults could be stopped.
Sadly, our board president and the 3 female board members, believe that secrets and lies are good for our community while our children are targeted into silence and terrified of staff who abuse position.
Look how far we have fallen.☹️
When we received this parents letter and were told 3 board members were trying to address the situation immediately, and for months after, Roger Myers consistently shut them down. We went back and reviewed the tapes. As recently as November 13th Roger Myers, Brighton School Board President, silenced Andrew Storm multiple times and refused to engage in any discussion, citing "client privileges". Unfortunately for Mr. Myers, he's forgotten that the community of Brighton Area Schools IS in fact THE CLIENT.
In this clip from a March 2023 board meeting, Andrew Storm requests transparency from the board after his son was placed on a "kill list" in the high school, wanting to know why the creator of the list was allowed to remain in the high school. He is requesting the ability to bring saftey topics to meetings as they arise and for swift action to be taken with transparencyto the public. John Conely agrees with Mr. Storm about the sensitive timing involved with these saftey issues, as he was not allowed by Meyers to bring to light a five year old at Hornug Elementary (the topic of this story) who was placed on a 4 day suspension, removed from his peers and provided a security detail for tickling a classmate.
The abuse of this five year old child, by his school board, superintendent, school as well as the high school teacher that was allowed to propagate her portrayal of slander and accusations leveraged across the district on a five year old boy, is negligence. It is abuse. It is DISGUSTING that our administration let it go on this long and this far.
The mother of the young boy wanted her email read to the community for transparency so The Livingston Lantern is helping her out.
The letter reads,
Hi everyone,
"Opening my son [child] School folder last night, brought to light the lasting and harmful effects of how his case was handled by the school. I'm not sure if any of you are aware the seriousness of how this has changed this innocent little boy and the alterations we are forced to make to accommodate his mistreatment and damaging lies from a BAS teacher meant to destroy the reputation of a young child.
To say we are disappointed in how things were handled is an understatement.
It seems easy for everyone to forget what should have been the only thing that truly mattered in the situation- which was what was in the best interest of the young children involved.
Reading [Child]'s "feelings" assignment was heartbreaking, but even more disheartening has been watching the changes in this once happy and carefree little boy. Knowing how sad this is making him and still confusing him, and how negatively he has been affected is something no parent ever wishes for their child. Knowing that his safe place, his school, where he grew and thrived, did not protect him is even more upsetting.
Things were not handled in a way that nurtured or taught any age-appropriate lesson to a kindergarten. Instead, an innocent child now has a target on his back and is made to feel unwelcome. I know some of you don't think people are talking about what happened, but I assure you- they are. I was at a get together this past weekend and a couple who I didn't know was asking me about it.
More than anything I pray that in the future, the children are considered first and not the demands if a tenured teacher with a personal agenda(with the help of some administrators). I encourage all of you to imagine if it was your child that this happened to, or with any case in the future, when deciding what is right and what is wrong , and what is age appropriate punishment, etc.
I also expect that BAS teachers are educated about the long lasting negative side effects of accusing young children of being sexual predators and the lasting damage it causes to the child..."

There are some major issues here:
[❌] A teacher violated FERPA!
[❌] A TITLE IX violation was filed on a FIVE YEAR OLD without an investigation!!
[❌] A five year old was segregated from his peers.
[❌] A Five year old was slandered by a BHS TEACHER!
[❌] THEY CHANGED POLICY TO COVER THEIR MALFEASANCE!! (Again!!!)
Roger Myers, Angela Krebs, Jennifer Marks, Alicia Reid & Matthew Outlaw
should feel ASHAMED.
They have violated their Oath of Office, but most importantly, they've violated a child's innocence with their lack of action and transparency.
As you can see, the video above is from last March the 2022/23 school year. This is the Nov. 13th 2023/24 board meeting. In the first 20 minutes you will hear these board members have no intention of public transparency.
To this day this family has no closure and this now six year old little boy is still a target. This is disgusting. This is WRONG.
